Job Summary

As a scrum & DevOps business analyst, you'll work within an organisation, helping to manage change and plan in the area of agile & DevOps in line with company goals.

This could be for one specific project or as a permanent feature of the organisation. You'll need to understand the current organisational situation, identify future needs and create solutions to help meet those needs, usually (but not always) in relation to information and software systems.

You will also play a key role in communicating between internal departments and external parties, acting as a 'translator' where necessary to incorporate how information technology, best practices & upcoming methodologies / technologies can support the organisation's needs.

Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst, you will need to:

  • Be the agile & DevOps expert for the organization & the customer.
  • Communicate with internal colleagues to understand the working of departments and the organisation as a whole to articulate the as is.
  • Suggest the best agile & DevOps methodologies for the organization based on best practices in the area of Scrum & DevOps.
  • Work with external stakeholders to understand and investigate the feedback regarding the service/function/product implementation into provided
  • Use data modelling and organization KPI practices to analyse the benefits regarding the agile & DevOps implementation and create suggestions for strategic & operational improvements based on the findings.
  • Consider the opportunities and potential risks attached to the suggestions you have made and prepare the respective risk registers accordingly.
  • Identify the processes and information technology tools required to introduce your recommendations. These should be preferably in the open source area to allow flexibility and control costs.
  • Gain agreement, usually from senior management, of the best method of introducing your recommendations to the business.
  • Communicate the benefits of your recommendations across departments and help to address any uncertainty and concern.
  • Produce written documentation to support your work, report on your findings and to present to stakeholders when necessary.
  • Support the staff and teams in making the recommended changes, including helping to resolve any issues.
  • Ensure plans are made and processes are created to evaluate the impact of the changes made, including taking responsibility for overseeing and reporting on this evaluation.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Experience
  • Sound experience and understanding of IT procedures or systems
  • Certified Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance
  • DevOps Foundation certified from DevOps institute.
  • DevOps Leader certified from DevOps institute is a major advantage
  • Managerial Experience preferred
  • Prince 2 Practitioner preferred
Qualifications and Skills
